WAJDA FILM SCHOOL FILMS IN CRACOW

At this year’s Cracow Film Festival the Andrzej Wajda Film School will present nine films. Two of them will run in the Polish films competition, seven of them will be presented off competition.

In the Polish films competition, which starts on 29th May and ends on 4th July, the Andrzej Wajda Film School will show two of its productions: a documentary called ‘Andrzej Wajda: Let’s Shoot!’ directed by the Paladino Film Group and ‘The Sleepwalkers’ by Maciek Sterło-Orlicki – a feature film produced within the framework of the ‘30 Minutes’ programme run by: the Andrzej Wajda Film School, the A. Munk ‘Młodzi i Film’ Studio which is part of the Polish Filmmakers Association, the Polish Film Institute and the Polish Public Television.
Our other films will be shown off the competition within various festival segments. The screening of two of our documentaries, Kalina Alabrudzińska’s ‘Destination: Iceland’ and Paweł Ferdek’s ‘Beautiful Misunderstanding’, will take be shown during the Student Etude Night. The same night we are going to present two feature films produced within the ‘30 minutes’ programme: ‘Aria Diva’ by Agnieszka Smoczyńska and ‘On Credit’ by Przemysław Nowakowski.

In the Polish Film Panorama segment there will be screened films that were produced within the ‘First Documentary’ programme run by the Andrzej Wajda Film School in cooperation with the A. Munk ‘Młodzi i Film’ Studio which is part of the Polish Filmmakers Association, the Polish Film Institute and the Polish Public Television: ‘Woman Wanted’ by Michał Marczak, ‘Mother’ by Jakub Piątek. Also in that segment there will be shown a film directed by Kristoffer Karlsson Rus called ‘Street Feeling’ (executive producer – the Andrzej Wajda Film School, producers – Education Promotion Institute, Operon Educational Publishing House and Harpoon Films).

In the Polish film competition there will also run a film whose production was supported by the A. Wajda Film School: ‘Rabit a la Berlin’ directed by our graduate – Bartek Konopka and produced by MS Films.

It has been a yet another time the Andrzej Wajda Film School has been presenting its films at this prestigious festival. Last year our productions won various awards: the Silver Dragon, the Silver Lajkonik that went to Agnieszka Smoczyńska for ‘Aria Diva’, the Polish Filmmakers Association’s Award for film editing to Wojtek Jagiełło.
