THE ANDRZEJ WAJDA FOUNDATION FOR FILM EDUCATION
The founders of the Foundation are: Andrzej Wajda, Wojciech Marczewski and WFDiF (Warsaw Film Studio). It's chairman is composer Wojciech Kilar and among it's members are - writer Ryszard Kapuścinski, Włodzimierz Niderhaus, Stefan Laudyn. The foundation honorary chairman is Ryszard Krauze.
The Foundation was created to support the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing.
Its goals are: the preservation of the best traditions of Polish cinema and achievements of it's creators and care about further development of film art. These goals are realized by:
- Supporting and promoting film art, that is organizing and financing:
- scholarships for talented directors or other artists
- exchange between artistic schools, scholarships and prizes
- conferences, seminars, art auctions, cultural events and artistic competitions in Poland and abroad to the
- meetings enabling the acknowledgement of the newest tendencies in film art
- Promotion of the young generation filmmakers in Poland and abroad
- Cooperation with state institutions, public organizations and partners - both Polish and foreign.
- Convincing filmmakers, film critics and other artists to the idea of Foundation.
Contact with the Foundation is possible through the office of the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing.
The Foundation’s aim is also to produce or coproduce films.
