THREE SESSIONS OF DOCUMENTARY COURSE BEHIND US!

On 6 March the third session of the Documentary Course, co-organised by the Foundation of Film Education and the Andrzej Wajda School, came to an end. In accordance with the principle ‘from script to screen’, participants develop their own ideas under the supervision of tutors and the best projects are produced. Two previous session took place in January and February.

During past three months students, supervised by lecturers Marcel Łoziński, Jacek Bławut and Vita Żelakeviciute, had developed their own ideas for films and had developed methods of working on them. Their main task was to fulfill a practical assignment 'Three questions' – a short interview with a character, which should include three answers for the most important questions according to director. The characters were, most of all, people associated with the Warsaw Film Studio WFDiF.  

Apart from the workshops, also lectures took place. A prominent film expert and the 'Kino' monthly editor-in-chief of many years Andrzej Kołodyński conducted lectures about history of Polish documentary film. The secrets of constructing a script were introduced to students by a respected scriptwriter Cezary Harasimowicz.

The Documentary Course has been organised since 2003 by the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Directing and the Foundation of Film Education. It's principle is ‘from script to screen’. Each participant proposes an idea for the film and the best projects are produced under the artistic supervision of lecturers, who provide advice and support at every stage, from the development and research to the editing and the sound postproduction.

This year's edition is divided into two stages, 20 students participate in the first one: Piotr Bernaś, Łukasz Borowski, Grzegorz Brzozowski, Paulina Capała, Aleksander Duraj, Dariusz Gackowski, Benjamin Gewogyan, Paweł Janicki, Tadeusz Koczanowicz, Eliza Kubarska, Jan P. Matuszyński, Marta Michałowska, Marta Minorowicz – Mc Bride, Kajetan Prochyra, Natalia Pawłowska, Julia Popławska, Krzysztof Sacha, Piotr Sadziński, Magdalena Szymków, Bartłomiej Świderski, Maciej Wąsik.
