OUR FILM IN SAN SEBASTIAN

The film by Krostoffer Karlsson 'Street Feeling' produced by the Andrzej Wajda School will be presented at this year's Film Festival in San Sebastian. The film was produced within the ‘Decalogue 89+’ programme in co-operation with the Operon, the Institute for Promotion of Education and the Harpoon Films.

'Street Feeling' will be presented at the Spanish festival within the International Film School Meeting. The film was selected out of 70 applications sent by film schools from all over the world and it is the only Polish production at the festival.
The film by Rus is a contemporary statement on the subject of the seventh commandment: ‘Thou Shall Not Steal’. In the film two different worlds meet: the first one, the world of graffiti-makers who risk everything for the sake of artistic freedom and the other one, the world of consumption and advertising represented by a graphic designer Tomasz (Tomasz Sapryk). What does it have to do with the seventh commandment?
The film was produced within the ‘Decalogue 89+’ programme. It was produced in cooperation with the Institute for Promotion of Education, the Operon Education Publishing House and the Harpoon Films. The Andrzej Wajda Film School was the executive producer and took artistic supervision over the project.

‘Decalogue 89+’ is a series of 10 short films made by young filmmakers on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Krzysztof Kieślowski’s ‘Decalogue’. The aim of the project was to allow young filmmakers to express their fears and dilemmas they have to face on everyday basis. The films are produced under the artistic supervision of renowned creators, our tutors, such as - Wojciech Marczewski, Jacek Bławut and Joanna Krauze.

The project is organized by: ‘The Institute for Promotion of Education’ Foundation and the OPERON Education Publishing House. Among others, the project’s partners are: the Andrzej Wajda Film School, PISF and TVP Kultura. The honorary patronage over the ‘Decalogue 89+’ has been granted by: Maria Kieślowska, Krzysztof Piesiewicz and archbishop Józef Życiński.

Kristoffer Karlsson Rus – a young Swedish filmmaker – graduated from the Feature Film Course and the Andrzej Wajda School.

At the last year's festival, the film by Norah McGettigan 'Jak to jest być moją matką [What It's Like to Be My Mother]' produced at the Andrzej Wajda School within the frames of the '30 Minutes' programme, won the 2nd Prize within the International Film School Meeting.
