WAJDA SCHOOL FILMS FESTIVAL OFFENSIVE
This year in autumn the films produced and co-produced by the Andrzej Wajda School have been guests at international festivals for example in the United States, Canada and France. Below are selected screen presentations with our films.
OUR FILMS IN THE UNITED STATES
Two productions of the Wajda School qualified for the Polish Film Festival in America (6-22 November). In Chicago there were presented: 'Andrzej Wajda: Róbmy zdjęcie! [Andrzej Wajda: Let's Shoot!]' by the Paladino Film Group co-produced by Telekomunikacja Polska and a Michał Marczak film 'Kobieta poszukiwana [Woman Sought]' produced within the 'First Documentary' programme – a joint initiative of the Andrzej Wajda Film School, the Andrzej Munk Studio ‘Young and Film’ - a part of Polish Filmmakers Association, the Polish Film Institute and TVP Kultura.
At the Austin Polish Film Festival (5-8 November) there was presented Przemysław Nowakowski's film 'Na kredyt [On Credit]' produced within the '30 Minutes' programme - a joint initiative of the Andrzej Wajda Film School, the Andrzej Munk Studio ‘Young and Film’ - a part of Polish Filmmakers Association, the Polish Film Institute and TVP Kultura.
SCREENINGS IN CANADA
At this year's Toronto Polish Film Festival (2-4 October) three productions from the Andrzej Wajda School were presented: two feature films produced within the '30 Minutes' programme – 'Aria Diva' by Agnieszka Smoczyńska and 'Jak to jest być moją matką [What It's Like to Be My Mother]' by Norah McGettigan and also 'PRL de Luxe' by Edyta Wróblewska, produced within the 'First Documentary' programme.
FESTIVALS IN FRANCE
The feature film by Maciek Sterło-Orlicki 'Lunatycy [The Sleepwalkers]’, produced within the '30 Minutes programme' at the Andrzej Wajda School, qualified for this year's Brest Short Film Festival (7-15 November).
Another film from the '30 Minutes' programme: 'Aria Diva' by Agnieszka Smoczyńska was presented at the International Lesbian & Feminist Film Festival in Paris (29 October – 2 November).
Two documentary films produced by the Andrzej Wajda School were presented at the 'Les Impatientes' International Documentary Student Film Festival in Saint-Ouen (20-22 November): 'Felgarz z Woli [The Lord of the Rims]' by Kuba Maciejko and 'Popatrz [Take a Look]' by Adam Palenta as well as two films co-produced within the framework of the 'First Documentary' programme: 'Matka [Mother]' by Jakub Piątek and 'Kobieta poszukiwana [Woman Sought]' by Michał Marczak.
OUR FILMS IN GERMANY
At this year's 'The Way We Live' International Short Film Festival (4-7 November) in Munich, the Wajda School will present: 'Henio, idziemy na Widzew [Football Father]' by Michał Jóźwiak and the feature film 'Jak to jest być moją matką [What It's Like To Be My Mother]' by Norah McGettigan.
SCREENINGS IN GREAT BRITAIN
Two films produced by the Wajda School will be presented in Rochester during the Polish Film Festival in mid-November (14-18 November). Both films were produced within the 'First Documentary' programme – 'Matka [Mother]' by Jakub Piątek and Kobieta poszukiwana [Woman Sought]' by Michał Marczak.
