THE WING FOR HENIO
A film by Michał Jóźwiak 'Henio, idziemy na Widzew [Football Father]' produced by the Andrzej Wajda School received the Skrzydlo Kinomana [Film-Fan Wing] prize at this year's International Independent Film Festival QUEST EUROPE.
The prize was awarded by the honorary members of the jury – Mr. and Mrs. Kalinowski who are the most popular fans of the cinema known for not missing any film premiere for years. They presented the Film-Fan Wing prize to Jóźwiak for his documentary film, as in their opinion it was the best film of all those presented at the festival.
The main character in this film is Marcin – a blind masseur working in a soccer club who starts taking his several-year-old son Henio to watch matches against Widzew. He shows him his work and the world of hooligans. Henio is partially sighted and can go blind just like his father did. Marcin prepares his son for the adult life and inevitable fate. The film was produced within the Documentary Course at the Andrzej Wajda School. Michał Jóźwiak is a graduate of the Documentary Course and the EKRAN – the European programme for film professionals conducted at the Wajda School.
